September 14, 2015 Budget Hearing
PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION
The Board of Education of the Creighton Community School, District No. 13 held a 2015-2016 proposed budget hearing on September 14, 2015 at 6:20 p.m. in the high school library.
Members present were: Dan Morrill, Colleen Farnik, Dixie Hanefeldt, Tim Gragert, Kay Morrill, and Gene Suhr.
Others present were: Superintendent Petersen, Principal Dredge, Secretary Hoffman, and patrons of the district.
The following business was conducted:
1. The hearing was called to order at 6:21 p.m. The open meeting laws act poster was displayed.
2. Superintendent Petersen reviewed the 2015-2016 budget highlights. The proposed general fund budget for 2015-2016 is $155,000 more than last year. The building fund budget increased by $25,000 as there are several decisions that need to be made on HVAC, the elementary roof, and the track.
3. During public comment, Jim Fuchtman asked the board to hold an open public budget workshop next year. Mr. Fuchtman also submitted a document to go on record. Gordon Fulton also questioned the district’s need for a large reserve.
4. Farnik moved to close the hearing at 6:34 p.m., seconded by Gragert. RCV: 6-0. Motion Carried.
